Sitgreaves Hemisphere Bowl

Using an earthy speckled stoneware clay rather than my usual porcelain, this one-of-a-kind vessel has a panorama that embodies the soulful expanses of central Arizona.
The landscape depicted here is patterned after the Apache/Sitgreaves area. My time camping and sketching throughout this region has been crucial to my first understandings of what it meant to depict a natural place in art. 
The exterior is a delightful warm textured brown, and the interior has a red-as-sunset matte glaze.
Fully functional for any food or decorative use, though many patrons use these works as standalone statement pieces.
